On My Wishlist Wednesday

Happy Hump Day everyone!  I hope you all are gearing up and ready for Thanksgiving.  I know I am!  I'm excited to help my mom in the kitchen and eat food all. day. long.  Now, with Black Friday a couple days away, I wanted to share with you a few more items on my wishlist.  Hopefully, there will be some big sales so I can get a few things!

The item on the top of my list for the past 10-12 months....drum roll, please...

Silhouette Cameo from Silhouette America
I mean, who doesn't have this on their list that doesn't already own one?  I currently have a Cricut Expression 2, but I just don't use it.  I have 5 or so cartridges, but 90% of those images I don't use.  I love that with the Cameo, you can cut words from fonts already on your computer-for FREE!  I love that you can buy single images.  I love all the free digital cuts out there, or those cut files that come with scrapbook kits/classes, or the inexpensive ones, like these from Two Peas in a Bucket.  I would use the Cameo.  I already use my laptop with the Cricut Expression 2 because it's easier for me to size images and weld them together, so having to use my laptop all the time with the Cameo would not be a con for me.

The Art of Modern Calligraphy, online class on Skillshare
I have totally be loving the look of modern calligraphy. It's just gorgeous.  This class, on Skillshare, sounds really fun.  The class itself is affordable-$20.  There is a list of materials, i.e. the pen holder, various nibs, ink, etc. that are affordable as well.  I added everything up and it would be $16-$18 plus shipping, which I don't think is too bad.  Especially if the nibs will last for awhile, the ink is the only item you'd have to get frequently.  Maybe after the holidays, I'll take this class... And if I do, I'll be sharing my projects and practice lines here, with you all!
Zig WINK OF STELLA Fine Point Glitter Pens, Pack of 12 at Simon Says Stamp
So, you all have heard about those super popular Wink of Stella Glitter Pens?  Well, these are a pack of FINE POINT glitter pens!  The regular glitter pens have a nice brush tip, but these particular pens are fine point, making it easier to go over thin lines, small letters, or to fill in small images.  The colors included in this pack are just awesome!

Viva Decor Paper Pens, Simon Says Stamp

I know this only shows one color-silver, but I want all the colors!  These snazzy little paper pens can be used to make your own enamel dots!  This video, by Jennifer McGuire, shows you how she uses these pens from Viva to make her own dots.  It seems pretty economical to me!  One pen is about $5, but it would last forever!  Where as one package of enamel dots, would only last for a handful of projects.  Yeah, I want one of these pens in every color!

Okay lovely readers, I hope you found some fun things to put on your wishlist.  Hopefully there will be some great sales coming up this holiday season to spoil ourselves.  I'll be back on Thursday to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving!

xoxo,
Heather

On My Wishlist Wednesday

I figured I better get back to adding things to my wishlist what with the holidays coming up...*wink, wink*!

Brush Strokes Stamp Set by Hero Arts

I want this stamp set so badly!  Ever since I saw this video by Nichol Magouirk using this set to make a Project Life embellishment gift set, I haven't stopped thinking about it!  Not only would I like to make a gift set like this, but I can think of so many fun things I could do with this set!

Tim Holtz Distress Markers, Full Set of 49
I've always been kind of weird about Tim Holtz's Distress line.  I always thought of grungy and dark projects, which is definitely not my style.  Now that I've been in the craft world for a little over a year, I've watched tons of videos, seen hundreds of projects, and seen all sorts of Distress products make pretty things.  And as you all know, I've been super obsessed with watercolors, and these markers make it pretty easy to achieve that watercolor look.

Inside and Out Sayings Stamp Set by Simon Says Stamp
I love making cards.  I'm liking it more and more considering I opened an Etsy shop to sell my cards!  (Go check out my shop, Sweetly Made Designs!)  I have always struggled with sayings for the inside of the card.  This stamp set would be perfect to add to my collection.

Okay lovelies, there are just a few more products you can add to your wishlist as well!  And just in case you don't know, Jennifer McGuire is doing a blog and youtube series, My Favorite Crafty Things 2013, over the next 10 days.  She showcases all of her favorites!  I love Jennifer McGuire's work.  She's very inspiring.  She also has a list of all the products she mentions on each day with links, so it's easy to add to wishlists or shopping carts!

And a reminder, you all have until tonight to link up your take on the challenge with my dear friend Kelly.  We will randomly pick a person who entered the challenge to win a $5 gift card to Two Peas in a Bucket. Come play along!

Heather

On My Wishlist Wednesday

Happy Hump Day!  I'm bringing you all a little something different on my wishlist:  clothes, accessories, and home decor!  Now, if you're a serious scrapbooker, sometimes we like to spend all of our money on those supplies and forget about everything else (minus bills, food, etc.).  I am so like that.  When I have spending money, I'd rather buy scrapbook stuff than anything else.  Yep, that's my life.  But I do love clothes, especially dresses, shoes, purses, jewelry, and home decor stuff.  So this wishlist will be filled with pretty things that I probably won't buy because I'm addicted to scrapbook supplies.

When the Night Comes Dress in Emerald, ModCloth
Isn't this dress just gorgeous?! I've been loving the lace trend (in scrapbooking and in clothing *wink, wink*).  This dress is just so simple and lovely.  That color is amazing too.

Skinny Interlocking Rings, designbygam, via Etsy
I don't wear any rings (besides my wedding band and engagement ring), but I really like them.  The problem I have is my hands and fingers are so small that most rings are too big and make my fingers look stumpy.  I think these interlocking rings would look good on my finger because of the very skinny width. I also love how simple they are, but still have a bit of personality.

Mason Jar Wall Sconces, Hendryx House Designs, via jane.com
I just adore this wall sconce.  And mason jars are so trendy right now.  This would make such a pretty addition to my house and it would be so versatile with different holidays and seasons.  I just really, really love it.  I also think this would make a great gift, especially with Christmas coming up!  I think my sister-in-law would really like something like this.  Also, if you guys are interested, it does come in one other pattern and both patterns come in different colors.

Alright friends, that is all I'll add today, or else you'd be reading this post for hours!  I know last Wednesday I talked a little about the Christmas/holiday scrapbook collections that I would love to get my hands on to do a documenting December mini album; go check out Kelly's post breaking down the different Christmas kits available.  Her post is helpful, as it puts all the kits in one list.

Also, come back tomorrow for the full reveal of the Sweet & Kelster challenge, our first challenge in our blog series!  Check out my project and Kelly's and find out how you can play along!

On My Wishlist Wednesday-Documenting December

Morning friends!  Sorry I have been completely MIA for the past couple days.  Monday I was in St. Louis visiting one of my friends before she moves to D.C. for a new job.  I was so exhausted Monday night when I got home, aka I was too lazy to write a post.  And yesterday I was just so tired, with no energy to write even a late post on my Project Life.  But, I will be posting a Project Life spread tomorrow.

So, what did you guys think of my special announcement last week?!  Are you all as pumped about this blog series with the wonderful Kelster Jean as I am?  We are still working out some details on our first challenge/project.  As soon as we finalize that, I'll let you all know!

So, on to my wishlist...This week I wanted to talk a little about this concept of  December Daily™ created by Ali Edwards.  I participated last year for the first time.  I have yet to finish my album, mostly because I was so done with Christmas by the end of Christmas day (the last few months of 2012 were really overwhelming for me, with getting married and then the holidays; I was just over everything).  I wasn't really prepared to take on this mini album as I should have been.  I have all my photos printed as well as my journaling, my album and all the pretty embellies, stamps, etc. in a box; I just haven't sat down to complete it.  This year, I want to approach the idea of documenting our Christmas season a little differently.  Here's my plan:

-purchase a kit without an album.  I have a turquoise/aqua Simple Stories album I want to use because I really want to incorporate this shade into my color scheme for the season.  I also like the idea of a kit because I can get little bits and pieces from different companies, instead of buying whole packages of embellies and probably spending more money.  Also, everything already coordinates!

-not to do a traditional daily documentation.  My husband and I do not have children yet.  We don't do Christmas-y things everyday in December.  I want to document everything Christmas-y/seasonal starting with Thanksgiving to the New Year.  I don't want to feel pressured to try to do something Christmas-related everyday.  That was difficult for me last year and I didn't like some of the pictures I captured.

-pre-make my pages.  It won't be all the pages (because I don't know what we'll be doing) and they won't be numbered, but I just want to definitely get my Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve/Day pages made.  I'll pre-make some other pages, as well as get the cover and "title" page completed.  I want to be able to take this thing with me to journal my thoughts and activities as they're happening or to at least journal directly in the album without writing it down in a notebook.  I just want to be able to add pictures, dates, and journaling.

When the talk of a December album starting happening at the beginning of September, I was not ready for it at all!  But, now that fall has kind of kicked in (it's still in the 80s here in the midwest), I've been getting pretty excited about my December album!  I actually want to start working on completing my 2012 December album!

So, now that I have officially bored you all with my thoughts and excitement about a December album, here are the various products I may get in addition to a kit/want to use in my album.  I still haven't decided which kit I'm going to purchase. I'm really holding out to see what Citrus Twist Kits releases.  I just want my kit to have that turquoise/aqua color in there.

I love everything in this October Afternoon Daily Flash mini collection.  I love the papers, the embellies, the stamps.  It's probably one of my favorite Christmas-themed lines this year.  The only bad thing is it doesn't start shipping until November.  I'd like to get my album ready by the beginning of November.

I also love the Peace Joy Love line from Lawn Fawn.  Again, it's that blue/aqua color mixed in with the traditional red and green.  I like the sequins, flair, and stamp set in this line too.

These are the two Christmas collections I am loving.  Hopefully, I can get my hands on pieces from each and you'll be seeing it in my Christmas album!  Are you guys doing a December album?  How are you approaching it this year?

xoxo,
Heather

On My Wishlist Wednesday

Happy Hump Day!  Today, I'm bringing you guys items on my wishlist that aren't scrapbook related!  *gasp!*  I thought I'd mix it up a bit.

First up is this fun iPhone case.
Chevron iPhone Case in Dirty Chevron via EliteCases (Etsy)
I'm a sucker for the chevron pattern.  I'm pretty sure I'll never get sick of it (knock on wood).

Lately, I've really been wanting to film youtube videos, mostly of my scrapbooking process.  I love watching these process videos on youtube and would like to make my own.  But, I don't have a fancy camera or camcorder or even a tripod.  Recently, I happened to stumble upon this via an instagram post from +findingnana.  I don't need anything fancy, as long as it works in helping record some process videos!  Or at least some sharing videos.

GripTight GorillaPod Stand via joby.com
The price is pretty affordable, in my opinion, at least for it's purpose.  And it's more portable than a traditional tripod.  Another reason I like this is because of the versatility of phones the GorillaPod fits.  Lately, I've been wanting a new phone (one with a better camera), and the new Windows phone has been on my radar.  The GorillaPod not only fits an iPhone, but the Windows phone and the Android!  Score!  This just may be something I reward myself with in the next couple of months....

And here's something way out in left field, makeup!  I'm addicted to makeup.  That doesn't mean I cake it on every day or cake it on at all.  I just like to even out my skin tone and have fun with eye makeup.  Unfortunately, good quality makeup can get expensive, but it does last awhile.  Here is something I've been dying to get ever since I started to take makeup application more seriously:
Naked2 Palette by Urban Decay
I know I'd use every color in this palette, there's no question about that.  I just can't bring myself to spend the $50.  Think of all the scrappy goodies I could get with that money!

That's it for me on this Wednesday morning.  I hope you all enjoyed a little something different from my wishlist.  Come back on Thursday for a very fun announcement and a layout!

xoxo,
Heather

On My Wishlist Wednesday

I figured I could get away with having a weekly wishlist series because there is so much stuff that I want!  It also gives me a chance to hear from you all on your wants, as well as your reviews/thoughts on what's on my wishlist.

Raskog Kitchen Cart from Ikea

I want this cart so badly.  Not just because of the color, but it would be awesome in my scrap room!  I don't know about you all, but if I don't see my products, I tend to not use them.  Not only would this beautiful cart provide organization in my scrap room, it would also help me see my stash.  It's been on my wishlist since 2013 started.  I think it's pretty affordable ($49.99), but I don't want to pay the additional $25 to ship it.  Unfortunately, I do not have an Ikea anywhere around me, so I'll have to make a special trip sometime!

Simon Says Stamp's Monthly Card Kit Subscription

I used to subscribe to the Simon Says Stamp Card Kit in the fall of 2012.  I stopped my subscription in January 2013 because I picked up the Studio Calico Project Life Subscription and the Citrus Twist Kits Scrapbook subscription.  At that time, I was more into working on PL and making layouts.  Now I feel like I'm cycling through papercrafts again.  I've been wanting to start selling my handmade cards in local shops, but I need more greeting card-ish stamp sets and bits and pieces.  Not that my current Citrus Twist Kits subscription can't help me with that, or my own stash, for that matter, but most of my stash (especially stamps) are geared toward scrapbooking.  I think a card kit would amp up my creativity.  Plus, I really like what the SSS design team does with these card kits.  I mean, how cute is this card kit?!

Here's something that's not scrapbook related, but still paper related.  As you all know (because you've read my About Me section!), I love planners!  I have a Filofax and I use it for everything!  If I lost it, I would fall apart.  Here is a planner from this amazing stationary site kikki.K.

kikki.K's 2014 Leather Time Planner, Size Medium

Like, want right now!  It's so cute!  And it's mint (one of my favorite colors at the moment) with gold (another seasonal favorite of mine) polka dots!  Seriously, drooling.

Okay, that's it for me this Wednesday.  Come back tomorrow to see a Halloween project I've been working on!

xoxo,
Heather
